A coffee shop with a working room that never closes — and does not charge for the seat. In a town where almost everything goes dark by nine, and the one proper coworking space shuts at midnight and costs 120,000₫ a day, that is a rare thing: you can turn up at three in the morning with a laptop, when the client in Europe is mid-working-day.

A workshop that does small repairs while you wait: speaker, microphone, buttons, charging port, screen replacement — fifteen to thirty minutes. For a visitor that is the whole point: here the phone is your map, your translator and your wallet, and you cannot be without it even for a day.

The most visible barbershop in town: close to a thousand reviews and consistent work rather than a lucky draw of barber. The cuts are the ones a European asks for — fade, crop, comb over — with a hair wash and a head massage. English happens through gestures and photos, so bring a picture of the cut you want.

Laundry by weight, the way it works in Vietnam: you hand over a bag and get it back washed, dried and folded. One of the cheapest in town, and they collect and return the bag themselves at no charge — arrangements are made by message.

Pickleball courts under a roof, so rain doesn't cancel the game — which in Da Lat solves half the problem. Paddles are available to rent, so you don't need your own gear.

Indoor pickleball courts: several of them in a row under a metal roof, nets, ball baskets and a pink panther painted across the wall. They coach children and adults alike, with group sessions and open play running side by side. The courts are roofed, so rain does not cancel the game.

They bring bottled drinking water to your door — this is the supplier we use ourselves. You order by message rather than by phone: the address and the number of bottles go in text, which settles the matter if you do not speak Vietnamese.

A plumber on call: he works across town, with the phone and the Zalo account on one number. Friends of ours have had him out and were happy with the work. Writing on Zalo beats calling: a photo of the problem and a map pin go straight through, and the text can be run through a translator — no need to make English work.

A private nail technician you can arrange everything with in Russian: manicure, extensions and a pedicure done with a smart-disc machine, which works the sole as well as the nails. She works from home and gives the address when you book. The price list covers every step, with removal and nail art as separate lines, so you can add up the total beforehand instead of hearing it at the end of the appointment.

Hatha yoga taught in Russian in a small group — no more than ten people, so the teacher has time for everyone. Two people run it: Tatiana Lapinskiene, a psychologist and yoga teacher, and Linas Dabu, a trainer in sports programmes and yoga; both have practised for more than seven years. They describe the class as a way to slow down, feel the body and step out of the daily rush rather than as a workout.

The operator with the biggest pile of reviews in town: 2,246 on Tripadvisor at 5.0, of which 2,210 are «excellent» (checked 23 August 2026). They run canyoning at Datanla, SUP on Tuyen Lam lake, trekking and overnight camping. Cheaper than most: a canyoning day is $52, the extended version with more descents $73.

An operator holding an international tour licence issued in 2011 — a rare case where the licence number is printed on the site. They run both sightseeing and active trips: the city with the cable car and the old station, the countryside with a silk factory and a coffee plantation, three waterfalls, cycling days and a motorbike tour. They answer in English, Korean and on Zalo.

For when you want the city rather than adrenaline: sightseeing tours with an open price list that separates group departures from private ones. Group tours cost about half; private ones run to your plan — a walk through the French architecture, coffee and flower farms, Langbiang, Pongour falls, the Valley.

The oldest adventure outfitter in Vietnam and the first to bring canyoning to Da Lat; 765 reviews on Tripadvisor (checked 23 August 2026). The range is wider than anyone's: besides canyoning there is mountain biking, overnight trekking and multi-day rides to the coast, to Nha Trang and Hoi An. Roughly half again as expensive as the competition, deliberately: own gear, English-speaking guides, insurance.

Canyoning at Datanla for 1,390,000₫ a head, with hotel pick-up in the centre and a ride back. Groups run 2–12 people with two to five guides — the ratio worth asking any operator about: it, not the price, decides how long you queue at each descent. Gear, lunch, water, entrance fees and photos are included.

A workshop and a shop in one. They clean trainers, shoes and bags: we have taken pairs here several times and they come back looking new — washed, stains gone, no grey film on the sole. At 60–80,000₫ it is the best money you can spend on footwear in town; in Europe the same cleaning costs as much as a new pair. Da Lat needs it more than it sounds: it rains for half the year, the mountain tracks are clay, and white trainers stop being white within a week. The other half of the business is retail: they sell trainers and clothes made for export to Europe, at Vietnamese prices. The clothing has a separate room on the first floor, and you cannot tell from below — from the street it looks like nothing but a shoe workshop.

Flat and house cleaning by arrangement. A laundry with collection and delivery: they take things from your home and bring them back dry. Not only clothes — duvets, pillows and whatever does not fit a flat's washing machine. Open from half past six in the morning to half past nine at night, every day, so you can drop things off before work or after.

Looking after pets while their owners are away. Arrangements go over Telegram: an easy place to send photos, the feeding routine and everything people forget to mention on the phone.

A tennis court under a roof. That matters more here than it sounds: it rains in Da Lat for half the year, and an open court cancels half the sessions in those months while a covered one keeps to its schedule whatever the weather. Coaching runs both one to one and in groups, and the groups are put together by playing level.

A driver with his own car, taken for a whole day by a group: he moves you between stops and waits while you walk around. The arithmetic differs from ride-hailing: with many stops and an hour between them the meter runs up faster than a day with a driver costs. Contact and arrangements go through Zalo.

A small outfit grown out of Phat Tire: some of the guides came from there. On Tripadvisor it rates 4.7 across 213 reviews (checked 23 August 2026) — fewer than the big names, but consistent. They run mountain biking, rafting, the Langbiang summit, canyoning and multi-day rides to the coast.

A dedicated coworking rather than a cafe with wifi: proper desks, chairs you can sit in for eight hours, and a quiet room — the thing missing from every cafe in town.

Three floors of work seats plus separate rooms, and the seat itself is free — you pay only for what you order. The glazing is continuous, so every floor gets plenty of light: tables run along the windows, the upper floors look over tiled roofs and the town, the ground floor over the trees and the street. Sockets are well placed and there is one at every seat, so no cable across half the room. The coffee is roasted here and it is genuinely good: the roaster stands behind a glass wall in a room marked PHÒNG RANG, with scales and beans beside it. The separate rooms are the move when you need to shut the main room out.

Western food and a mountain view on the way up Robin Hill. Expats come here and settle in with their laptops: there are sockets by the tables and the internet runs at 35 Mbps.

A farmer cooperative covering roughly 120 hectares and 60-plus partner farms, roasting multiple origins. Beans run 145–450k a bag if you want to take Da Lat home.

A coach who teaches tennis in Russian: one to one, in pairs and in mini-groups of three or four. The groups are put together by playing level, so a beginner does not end up on court with people who have played for ten years. A session covers everything — the court, the coaching, a racket and bottled water — so you can come without your own kit and without a membership anywhere. He describes himself as having coached for twenty years, including at international level.

A small clothing-repair shop: trousers and skirts hemmed, patches sewn on, zips replaced on jackets and bags. In a town where evenings are always cool a jacket gets worn daily, and the zip is the first thing to go — no need to bin the thing over a broken slider. Open from seven in the morning to eight at night, every day, so you can drop in before or after work.

An onsen on the edge of a slope: the hot baths stand at panoramic windows with pines and city roofs behind them. There are wooden two-person tubs with a line of stepping stones between them and a larger pool under a round lamp, steam rising off the water. Besides the water there are three saunas in sequence — Himalayan salt, herbal and hot stone. The rest room has a salt wall, sand underfoot and straw cushions, and there is a cafe with tea upstairs.

Dog and cat grooming on Mac Dinh Chi, 1.2 km from the market. The salon works from eight in the morning until nine at night, so a pet can be dropped off after work.

A barbershop in Lam Vien where we get our own haircuts: a child's cut is 60,000 ₫, an adult one 80,000. We are happy with the cut.

Seventeen restored 1920s French villas along cobbled lanes in a pine valley — the most Da Lat thing you can book in this town. But you can come without checking in: the grounds have a heated open-air pool among very tall pines. It is small, yet there is room to actually swim rather than stand in the water. Next to it a spa with a sauna, scrubs, massage and rituals, plus a bar and a restaurant.

A gym on the fourth floor of the building on Van Hanh: two dumbbell racks, a Smith machine, cable machines, a leg press, a back extension bench, a treadmill and battle ropes. Full-height windows, mirrors and a rubber floor. A month of training with a coach, five times a week, costs 4.4 million ₫. The longer the pass, the cheaper the month works out.
