Worth knowing. Deposit is 2 months plus first month upfront. Ask the landlord to file your tam tru (police registration) on day one and photograph the proof.
Careful. Da Lat is damp and homes have no heating or insulation. Check walls, ceilings and wardrobes for mould before you sign anything.

Worth knowing. About 15 min by motorbike to the centre. Search on Nhatot (Cho Tot) in Vietnamese, not English — English searches quietly cost 30–50% more.

Worth knowing. Tuyen Lam is 20–25 min out and you will need your own transport. Verify the owner holds the red/pink book and has not pledged it to a bank.

Da Lat needs no air conditioning, so bills are far below Da Nang or Saigon. Fibre internet at 300 Mbps is 190–195k a month.
Careful. The state electricity tariff is 1,984–3,460₫/kWh, but landlords commonly charge a flat 3,500–4,000₫. Agree the rate in writing before you move in.
