Every card answers three questions: why go, what to know, and where to be careful.
Da Lat Night Market must
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai + the stairs · 17:00–22:00
15–60k₫
$0.55–2.30
checked
The city's evening centre of gravity. Grilled rice paper, hot soy milk, snails and skewers, plus sweaters at 150–350k because Da Lat is the one place in Vietnam you actually need one.
Worth knowing. Do not haggle over food — prices are fixed. Do haggle on clothes and souvenirs; aim for 60–70% of the first quote.
Careful. Always ask the price before you sit down at a street hotpot stall. Setups charging 350k for what costs 120k two blocks away are the main local complaint.
Da Lat Central Market
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Xuan Huong ward · 06:00–17:00
—
checked
Built in 1929, about a thousand businesses across several floors. Artichoke tea, strawberry jam, dried persimmon, arabica beans, macadamia, wool.
Worth knowing. 06:00–09:00 for produce and flowers, 15:00–17:00 for souvenirs. Check expiry dates on jam, tea and dried fruit — repackaged goods are common.
