Waken Beans coffee shop — own roast and a rooftop over the city

A roastery cafe spread over several floors. Downstairs is the counter: glass tubes of beans on a wooden rack behind it, a La Marzocco espresso machine beside them, a row of tall stools along the bar. Beyond it a room sits under a translucent roof on wooden beams, with leather benches and windows onto the lane. Above that comes a floor walled in glass, and over it an open roof with wooden benches: from there you see the tiled roofs of the town and the mountains behind them. The menu splits in two. The first half is the ordinary coffee list: espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte and Vietnamese coffee. The second is called the specialty bar, where beans sorted by origin (Vietnamese and imported arabica, a limited arabica, specialty robusta) are brewed by hand in a V60 or an Origami. The room is furnished piece by piece: a silver relief of painted eyes above the bar, shelves along the walls with wall clocks, globes, rotary telephones and a reel-to-reel tape recorder.

Cần biết trước. Open every day from 6:30 to 22:30. You order at the counter and pick the drink up there too, at the end of it where a "pick up" sign stands. Signs reading "upstairs" and "more space" point up the stairs, and the climb is worth it: from below the windows show only the lane, while the view over the town opens from the top floor and the roof. Prices from the menu photographed on the spot on 2 September 2026. The coffee half: espresso 50k ₫ single and 55k double, americano 60k, cappuccino and latte 65k hot and 70k iced. Vietnamese coffee: black 50k and 55k, with condensed milk and bạc xỉu 55k and 60k, egg coffee 65k and 70k. The specialty bar, brewed in a V60 or an Origami: Vietnamese arabica and specialty robusta 95k, imported arabica 105k, limited arabica 165k; espresso on imported arabica 65k single and 85k double, on specialty robusta 50k and 60k. The cold and sweet half. Cold brew 60–75k: the base is either arabica or cascara (an infusion of dried coffee cherry husk), and the flavour lemon, yuzu or strawberry. Matcha 65–70k, cacao 65–70k, coffee with salted cream and black sugar 65k, a strawberry caramel latte 60k. Hot drinks beyond coffee are matcha latte, cacao latte and honey ginger tea at 60k each. Plant milk is priced apart: a matcha latte costs 65k on cow's milk and 70k on plant milk. There is food as well: the pastry here is good. We did not write down what it costs.
