Pony rides at Balava — riding for children

A level green field in the pine forest where children are given rides on horses and ponies — the child sits, an adult leads the horse by the bridle, so no riding experience is needed at all. A painted concrete path runs around the field: children ride scooters and balance bikes on it while they wait their turn. Find it by the Balava chocolate house: the field lies directly below, the whole of it visible from the cafe terrace, where parents usually sit with a cocoa.

Worth knowing. Navigate by Balava: head for the chocolate house on the Lang Biang road, the field is below it. The horses are led by hand; we did not see helmets on the children, so bringing your own does no harm. Ask the price on the spot: there is no posted list.
