The Russian consulate general in Ho Chi Minh City
This is the consulate that serves Da Lat: Lam Dong province falls in its district, not Da Nang's. We were there in August 2026 — what follows is what we saw ourselves and what is pinned to the boards in the waiting room. The thing worth reading to the end: appointments open well in advance, but if your deadline is burning, an email can solve it.
Address, phones, hours
Hours and numbers come from the board in the waiting room, photographed on 20 August 2026. The ministry register gives an 11:00 finish on Friday, while the board says 12:00 on all three days; on site the board is what counts.

What to prepare before you travel
Some services are not handled at the window but filed in advance on ministry portals: without that, there is nothing to do at the appointment.
- A power of attorney — filed through notary.kdmid.ru with the full text, before you book. The consulate does not email finished documents: they are handed over in person.
- Consent for a child's travel and a spouse's consent — the templates are on the board, and the text is prepared in advance.
- A Russian visa — the form on visa.kdmid.ru.
- A certificate for return to Russia, if the passport is lost or stolen — a separate procedure, with the document list on the board and on the consulate's site.
Paying and collecting
The consular fee is paid by transfer: the board carries a Vietcombank QR code with the consulate's account. A finished passport is collected in person, and the readiness status is checked on the site so you do not travel to Ho Chi Minh City blind.

The road from Da Lat
- About 300 km, six to eight hours by bus. The office closes at noon, so people leave the evening before on the night sleeper.
- Since 19 August 2026 Lien Khuong airport is open: the Ho Chi Minh City route flies daily, so the road no longer eats a whole day.
- The consulate sits in District 3, close to the centre. Come at opening: even with an appointment there is a queue.
