The consular section of the Russian embassy in Hanoi
Russia's main mission in the country: an embassy with a consular section. Its district is all of Vietnam except the provinces assigned to the consulates general in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. Da Lat belongs to Ho Chi Minh City, so people come to Hanoi for other reasons: embassy matters, the north of the country, a transit through Hanoi airport.

When Da Lat does go to Hanoi For consular services, almost never: passports, powers of attorney and return certificates are handled in Ho Chi Minh City, three hundred kilometres away rather than fifteen hundred. Hanoi matters if the question is embassy-level, if you are already in the north, or if the connection suits you: there is no direct Da Lat–Hanoi flight, but twenty-eight flights a week run from Hanoi to Da Lat.
